Chushu-no-meigetsu--Mid-Autumn moon

Full moon and "tsukimi dangos" or moon-viewing dumplings

Delicious cookies named "Moonlight"
They may be good instead of tsukimi dangos😋

I told you the moon this season is the most beautiful in Japan before.

Today is the best to view the extremely beautiful moon in the clear night sky.

The moon which we can see on the 15th is called “Chushu-no-meigetsu” which means “Mid-Autumn moon.”

The custom of viewing the moon was brought from China in Heian period, about 1,000 years ago.

On this night, we offer special things to the moon, in which God is present. (Actually, Japanese believe God exists in all things.) We place "tsukimi dango" or rice dumpling, autumn fruit and crops, and Japanese pampas grass, where you can see the moon well😃

Are you enjoying today's moon?😊
