Furoshiki--Japanese wrapping cloth

This is my furoshiki, on which my family crest is printed.

This is "Furoshiki," a square-shaped cloth, used for wrapping and carrying things.

"Furo" means a bath; and "shiki" a spread. In 15-16 centuries, Muromachi era, people used the cloth to keep their belongings and also used it as a bath mat. This is why it is called "Furoshiki."

It is said furoshiki was first used in the Nara era, about 1,300 years ago. Nowadays, we use furoshiki to wrap gifts, lunch box, wine bottle, book, watermelon--Everything!

It's eco-friendly because it can be washed when it gets dirty. I addition, furoshiki is convenient even in emergency situations. Why don't you use furoshiki?😊
