Shichi-Go-San with a candy called ”Chitose-ame”
Hello. Thank you for visiting this blog💕
It's November 15th, on which Shichi-go-san is celebrated in Japan. These days, we celebrate the ceremony not only on the 15, but also on other days like holidays in November.
"Shichi-go-san" are the numbers and literally mean seven, five, and three in Japanese. This is the festival for three and five year old boys and three and seven year old girls😃
Most families visit shrines or temples and pray that their children will grow healthily and happily😊 When visiting a shrine to celebrate shichi-go-san, they can get a long candy called "chitose-ame." "Chitose" means “one thousand years,” and symbolizes health and a longevity. It's colored red and white, which are considered auspicious colors in Japan😉
