”Kotatsu”

”Kotatsu" and mandarin oranges

Hi. It's December 6.

By the way, how do you warm up in winter?😃

Japanese people love "kotatsu," a traditional Japanese heating appliance. It is a low table, which comes with an electric heater equipped underneath and is covered with a thick blanket. People place their legs under the table while sitting on the floor.  And "Kotatsu and mandarin oranges," one of the Japanese winter features, cannot be separated from each other.

I don't have "kotatsu" at home now, but in my childhood, I loved sitting under "kotatsu" in the cold winter. But once I put my feet in there, I struggled to get out from the toasty table. I miss "kotatsu"😆

  1. I often fall asleep in a kotatsu and my mother gets angry. My mother already got angry three times this year. I think the kotatsu is bad because it feels too good(?)

    1. Hi, Momoha! Thanks for your comment. I'm sure you feel happy when you sleep in the kotatsu. But don't spend so much time in kotatsu and don't catch a cold.
