"Osechi" part 4

Simmered shrimp: the symbol of long life

"Datemaki" sweet omelette: knowledge

Hi. We've just come in the middle of December😁

It's the fourth "Osechi" series: Shrimp and "Datemaki."

Shrimps or lobsters symbolize longevity. Their shape looks like the elderly man; they have long barbs and crooked shape. We eat them to wish for living longer until our backs are bent.

And "Datemaki," steamed fish and egg cake, has a meaning of "knowledge." "Date" means "stylish" or "flashy" and "maki" means "makimono" or hand scroll.

This "Osech" series will be continued...😃
