It's very cold here today. I feel winter in the air.
Today is the first of December. We call December by different Japanese names.
The most famous is "Shiwasu," which literally means that a Buddhist priest or monk is busy running around. They have to visit the followers' houses to read sutras in front of family Buddhist altars. There are various theories though.
Another name of December is "Harumachi-zuki." It is also the month of waiting for spring to come. "Kiwamari-zuki" or "Gokugetsu" is another name of this month. It means that the year reaches the extreme. There are more different names.
We can feel the beautiful season from Japanese names of each month😃
