”Yutanpo"--Hot Water Bottle

A hot water bottle

"Anka," a foot warmer

Hello. It was warm during the day.

Have you ever used "yutanpo" or a hot water bottle? It is a kind of container in which we put hot water so that we can use it for warming our body. In some countries other than Japan, it is also popular, isn't it?

In Japan, before "yutanpo" appeared, "anka" was familiar to people. It originated in Muromachi era, about 500 years ago. Originally, "anka" was a container made of wood or pottery, into which they put a heat source such as a charcoal fire.

We're grateful for the warmth of "yutanpo" on cold days😊
