And another festival is held on this day especially in Kansai region. It's the "Toka Ebisu" festival. "Toka" is the tenth, which is thought as the birthday of Ebisu, the god of wealth, fishing, and commerce, and one of the Seven gods. The festival is held on January 10th in honor of Ebisu god usually for three days.
At the "Toka Ebisu" festival, some auspicious objects are sold to the worshippers at Ebisu jinja shrines: "kumade" or rake and "fuku-zasa" or lucky bamboo branch. "Kumade" is believed to collect luck and money. "Fuku-zasa" is also called "Kitcho-zasa." "Kitcho" means auspicious omen, and also the lucky ornaments which are attached to "Fuku-zasa." There are famous shrines for "Toka Ebisu" festival such as Nishinomiya Ebisu-jinja Shrine in Hyogo and Imamiya Ebisu-jinja Shrine in Osaka.
