Hi! April starts!๐Ÿ˜ƒ

In Japan, April is also called "Uzuki" according to the Japanese lunar calendar. "Uzuki" is written as "the month of deutzia." Deutzia is known as the white flowers which bloom around April. And a traditional Japanese dish "Unohana," which is made out of tofu pulp, looks like and was named after this flower.

"Hanami" or cherry blossom viewing is a traditional Japanese custom to welcome spring. It's been enjoyed from long ago in Japan. Japanese people believe that sacred spirits exist in all things including cherry trees. People offer sacred "sake" and foods to cherry trees and wish for the fertility of the year. Cherry blossom has a deep connection with Japanese people, and that's why it is regarded as an iconic flower of Japan. Enjoy cherry blossom viewing!๐Ÿ˜Š
