"Washoku"--traditional Japanese cuisine
Hi. It's getting colder here😆 How about over there?
Today is "Washoku" day. November 24, 11/24, is similar in pronunciation to the phrase "Ii-nihonsyoku," which means "good Japanese cuisine."
Strictly speaking, "Nihonsyoku" includes all kinds of dishes, even the meals which came from abroad such as "ramen" and "curry and rice." "Washoku" represents the traditional Japanese cuisine like "Cha-kaiseki Cuisine," "Kaiseki Cuisine" and ”Local Cuisine." It basically consists of "one soup and three side dishes," which is called "Ichiju-sansai" in Japanese. And, you know, "washoku" is listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
